Training
All of the offered courses by CLM are taught by experienced professionals who are currently working in the field for Caltrans, city, county and/or local agencies on NPDES, SWPPP and water quality issues. Lecture and instruction is backed by hands on Best Management Practices (BMP) experience that is proven and effective in the field. Students are encouraged to ask questions and discuss current, past, or future projects related to storm water compliance. Courses includes the most current governing body templates and forms as well as the most recent updates to the applicable requirements and standards.
CLM training specialists can bring any of our pre-defined classes to your office. In addition, CLM staff can work with you to develop a curriculum tailored to fit your specific needs and industry. Please contact our staff for a proposal for on-site training and seminars.

Certified Erosion Sediment and Storm Water Inspection Training (CESSWI) |

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The CESSWI program and certification, developed by EnviroCert International, Inc., is intended to educate and train inspectors on federal, state, and local requirements for erosion sediment and storm water inspection. Inspectors are trained and subsequently certified in construction, post-construction, multi-sector, industrial and commercial erosion and sediment control and storm water inspections.

Qualified Storm Water Practitioner (QSP) Training |

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
California's construction storm water general permit (CGP) requires that practitioners who implement SWPPPs demonstrate appropriate qualifications for this work. The CGP identifies a set of prerequisite qualifications that would demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to implement SWPPPs. In addition, the CGP requires that individuals in these positions complete a State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) approved or sponsored training course within two years of the CGP adoption (September 2, 2011).
This course curriculum provides an in-depth review of the information individuals planning to become construction Qualified Storm Water Practitioners (QSPs), a prerequisite to the Qualified Storm Water Developer (QSD) will be expected to know. This course consists of 5 modules: Training Overview and Regulations, Erosion Processes and Sediment Control, SWPPP Implementation, Monitoring, and Reporting.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
California's construction storm water general permit (GCP) requires that developers of construction Storm water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) (known as Qualified Storm Water Developers or QSDs) and practitioners that implement SWPPPs demonstrate appropriate qualifications for this work. The GCP identifies a set of prerequisite qualifications that demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to prepare and/or implement SWPPPs. In addition, the CGP requires that individuals in these positions complete a State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) approved or sponsored training course within two years of the CGP adoption (September 2, 2011).
This course curriculum provides an in-depth review of the information individuals planning to become construction QSDs will be expected to know and information concerning the CGP. This course consists of 3 modules: Project Planning and Site Assessment, SWPPP Development and Permit Registration Documents (PRDs) and Project Closeout.
Note - Prerequisite to enroll in this course is the completion of the QSP Training.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
California's industrial storm water general permit (IGP) requires that practitioners who implement industrial SWPPPs demonstrate appropriate qualifications for this work. The IGP identifies a set of prerequisite qualifications that would demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to implement industrial SWPPPs.
This course curriculum provides an in-depth review of the information individuals planning to become Qualified Industrial Storm Water Practitioners (QISPs) must know including basic permit functions such as developing a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), monitoring for one or more facilities, preparing Level 2 Exceedance Response Action (ERA) Technical Reports and Demonstration Technical Reports, No Exposure Certification, Sampling Frequency Reduction Request, and Sampling Location Reduction Request.

Caltrans Approved 24 Hour Water Pollution Control On Construction Sites |

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Designed for SWPPP Preparers and Water Pollution Control Managers (WPCMs), this course covers current and newly adopted statewide General Construction Permit requirements and satisfies Caltrans/CASQA requirements.
Training utilizes Caltrans and CASQA SWPPP templates and manuals as course materials. Hands-on exercises will be conducted on filling out forms, BMP inspection and estimating, SWPPP cost breakdown. We will look ahead to new permit requirements, methods, and technologies. Learn about the preparation of a Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP), proper selection and installation of Construction BMPs. A portion of class will be spent learning how to prepare a SWPPP/WPCPs as well as learning to review and understand water pollution control specifications and contract special provisions. Techniques related to water sampling, reporting, and analysis of water quality data will also be taught. A student study guide will be provide to each participant.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Training |

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This class is designed to assist Landscape Contractors with storm water NPDES Compliance for construction sites regulations, and site compliance. The class is given in two parts. Part one covers regulations and BMP’s. Part two is hands-on BMP field demonstrations. Participants can sign up for either part or all day.
Part One Includes:
- Regulatory Requirements Update and City Storm Water Ordinance
- General construction, municipal, industrial
- Common Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Construction
- Temporary soil stabilization, temporary sediment controls, tracking controls, construction site waste management, and non-storm water management
- Site Inspection and Documentation
Part II Includes:
- Hands-on practice of installation of BMP materials such as silt fence, fiber roll, gravel and sand bag, jute netting, etc.
